[Feature] item box like powerups
a box that contains say random items like equipment or powerups similar to item boxes from mario cart. say you got one and you randomly get red paint and it gives extra boost etc.

OneWingedMake it a step further. More like Twisted Metal/Carmageddon.
Special weapons: Each car has their own gimmick special weapon, and main gun. Add a third slot for pick ups(which can be cycled through, maybe 1-2 uses per pick up, up to max of 3-5): Mines, rockets, quad-shotgun for close combat, Grot-mechanic for fast fix on the road, ram for some times/uses to make ramming more powerful. Etc.
Healing pads: Healing pads that light up and heal a bit first who get on it, and then deactivate for some time. To prevent camping make them damage in aoe and throw back on activation.
Booster pads: Some speed boost for more SPEED, maybe useful to catch or to ram more.
Environmental hazards caller: Deff squadron beacon to bomb the area, disrupt lava flow and create hazard zones around the arena, artillery beacons. Etc. Can be a type of power up and not on map feature. Or both. Map ones being more powerful.

DwI would just hate to see the outcomes of a race reduced to whether you got the power up or not.

Defcon-One13 MergedThe ability to the tank vehicles to stay in the fight with self heal seems very powerful. Almost disadvantageous to the dps crew. I think this would be remedied or mitigated by placing vehicle power ups outside the point which the dps can compete for. Power ups could offer extra speed, damage and most importantly heals.
I would recommend limiting the volume of tanks that can be in the game per side. Not sure how to implement that without pissing someone off but a fleet of tanks controlling a point, self healing and being able to deal solid damage is far too powerful. Maybe increase the damage of some DPS. -

BadMoons: Main weapon temporarily shoots slightly faster.
BloodAxes: Temporary invisibility.
EvilSuns: Go faster temporarily.
Goffs: Temporary over health.
Deathskulls: Temporary invincibility.
SnakeBites: Launch one bomb squig at an enemy in whatever direction you aim for massive damage (Very inaccurate and if squig has no target it will turn around and damage you) .
Freebootaz: Main weapon temporarily does slightly more damage -

Here be me take on such a concept (Part 1)
Badmoons: Given Bad Moons be rich and love their snazzguns, th' temporarily shootin' fasta' that Colorum_Fabricalis suggested would work. Howeva', this could also be a temporary increase ta' th' points ye earn, as Bad Moons have teef what grow fasta' than evaryone else which be why they be rich
Bloodaxes: Ratha' than invisibility as Colorum_Fabricalis suggested, it could be make ye temporarily undetectable ta' th' UI. Enemies would not see yer name er health bar ova' yer vehicle and such fer a short time (unless really close).
Evilsuns: Same as Colorum_Fabricalis's, temporary speed boost

Goffs: Reduce damage taken (perhaps by 50%). Activates the next time you take damage and lasts for a short while (5-10 seconds?)
Deathskulls: Deathskulls loot from th' battlefield ta' upgrade their own weaponry. Methinks Deathskulls should have th' temporary damage buff
Snakebites: Gain (or increase if it is a thing) ramming damage when hitting another vehicle with your front face. Could last for a short time or for a set number of rams
Freebootaz: Reduce cooldown rate on abilities by 25-50% fer th' duration
